Self-love

Self Love 101Self-love is an action, not a state of feeling good. I always like to say its learning to open your heart inwards to your needs first instead of others.

Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support and care for our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

Today I Want To Share My 7 -Step Program To Achieve Self-Love:

1. Become mindful -People who have more self-love tend to know what they think, feel and want. They are mindful of who they are and act on this knowledge rather than on what others want for them.

2. Act on what you need rather than what you want -by staying focusing on what you need, you turn away from the automatic behaviour patterns that get you into trouble, keep you stuck in past or future thinking and lessen self-love.

3. Practice good self-care -you will love more when you take better care of your basic needs. People high in self-love nourish themselves daily through wellness activities like quality self-time, proper sleep, nutrition etc.

4. Set boundaries- you will learn to love yourself more when you set limits or say no to work, love or activities that drain you physically, emotionally, spiritually or express poorly who you are.

5. Protect yourself -bring the right people into your life who celebrate your uniqueness.

6. Forgive yourself – we humans can be so hard on ourselves. Every experience, good or bad, is just growing and learning on Earth School so accept your humanness and practice truly loving and forgiving all parts of you including the so-called mistakes made.

7. Live intentionally -you will accept and love yourself more when you live from a heart purpose doing only what you choose to do For example; I choose to cook dinner for my family instead of I have to cook for my family. I urge you to remove the “I have to” s and replace with “I choose to” which will help you live intentionally and not as a victim of any circumstances.

My suggestion is that you choose one or two of these steps above and implement them into your life for 90 days and watch miracles of self-love and acceptance happen -it so cool to fall in love with yourself again.
